On a working day, central Brno can sound like a continuous mix of trams, deliveries, conversations and footsteps. Yet only a few metres from the main streets are places where the noise suddenly softens.

Brno's quietest courtyards are valuable not because nobody knows about them, but because they change the scale of the city. Step from a busy street into a space holding a few tables, several trees and the echo of footsteps. When you return, the city sounds different. Do not try to uncover every secret in a single route. Choose a few public places and let chance work between them. If you encounter a closed door, accept it as a boundary rather than a challenge. Respect is the best ticket into layers of the city that should remain pleasant for the people who live there.
